Sometimes it may happen to you before your new stylish t-shirt looks like old aged with only one wash. A hole gets opened in the crotch of the jeans you have just had for six months. A thread is hanging from shirt after one or two wear, threatening a much greater unraveling.

It is not necessary that all skull clothing is made to last. The quality of clothes is some argue, in decline, and the culprit is the only global fashion system that prioritizes a cheap price tag and lightning-fast production. We shop constantly and always looking for new stuff, low-quality clothes, creating a culture of disposable. But quitting cheap, fast fashion is easier said than done. If we want the skull clothing that lasts us longer, we’ve to know what to look for when we are purchasing. But the reality is that many of us just don’t.

You don’t have to be skull clothing expert to judge whether the next item you are thinking to purchase is of good quality or not. You require to take some time to learn what quality looks and feels like, but here are some basic tips that can definitely help you to figure out whether a clothing item is made to last.

1. Check the label

A fabric of garment content matters. Most of the people prefer fibers that are extracted from animals and plants as wool, cotton, silk, or linen, but synthetic makes up a growing share in the form of acrylic, polyester, rayon, spandex, and other fibers from plastics and petrochemicals.

\"Stylish

Technology is improving their luster, texture, and drape, and some of these synthetic fabrics provide qualities such as stretch. Often, they are blended with natural materials to design fabrics that give a feel a lot like natural fibers. But such blended fabrics do not improve with repeated laundering in the way that natural fibers can. So, always check the label, as clothing labeled 100% cotton can be low-quality. Fabrics that can be designed cheaply if they use low-grade fibers, that are not very strong, or if there is not a lot of fiber in the cloth. Therefore, it is useful to learn how good quality looks and feels.

2. Look at the seams, inside and outside

Of course, the fabric is not the only thing that matters in case of clothing. It is also essential to check the seams holding the garment together. The stitches must have even, closely space, and lying flat on the fabric.

Just do not look at them on the outside of the garment. Look at the inside also. For example, check out the hem on a shirt, or the inside of the crotch on a pair of pants. If seams appear to be sloppy, or if there is a spot where they look loose or stitched over multiple times then those are warning signs.

\"Men

The stitch that is flat on the surface of the garment but bubbling inside can be a cause for concern. Sometimes, a sewing machine uses two threads to stitch, and they can pull on the fabric differently if the tension between them is not balanced. For example, if the surface thread is too tight and the inside thread is too loose then the stitch may look perfect from outside but it won’t actually be stable.

What does quality mean?

People like to throw the word “quality” but no one actually ever defines what “quality” is.

The very first rule of quality is that it is subjective.

When everyone refers to “spending more for quality,” then they want their clothing to be more durable than cheaper alternatives. But they cannot explain how exactly those expensive items will last longer.

Quality is all about construction design and fabric. When good fabrics meet with excellent design, then you get a gothic dress that tends to the age and last longer gracefully.

The easiest way to discern the quality

The easiest way to recognize the quality of clothing is by experiencing it yourself in person. Visit a high-end store and feel the womens gothic clothing and mens gothic clothing. Note how sturdy and heavy the fabrics feel, and how they drape. Try some of them too. Then visit the less expensive stores and then compare the same items and experience the difference. Clothes are tactile, so by handling high-quality clothes yourself, you will learn to recognize these same qualities in the future too.

Three things to look in high-quality clothes

The essential three things to consider in high-end clothes are good design and construction, natural fabrics, and from where they are made. Let us dive into each.

1. Natural fabric

When we talk about fabrics, the one thing strike in the mind whether the garment is made out of 100% natural materials or not. If we see the clothing made of synthetic materials like rayon, polyester, nylon, etc. then we put it back immediately. It is a fact that natural fabrics feel good against the skin, last longer and wash better.

Sometimes manufacturers use synthetic materials for the design purpose, but for the most part, checking for a natural fabric is a best 80/20 test for quality. If you’ve flimsy, crappy fabrics then the best construction and designs won’t save it

2. Design and construction

The quality of design and construction totally depends on how well the pieces of fabric stitched together. The initial test can hold the garment up to the stretching and light one of the seams to see how much light comes through. If the thread is even and tight then it is a good sign.

3. Where it is made

If you are going to purchase any garment then always check the tag to see from where the item was made. Better manufacturing can happen in any country but it shows how much you have to pay. For instance, you know the labor cost in the US is high, so you have to pay more for the thing made here. But if you know the thing is made in a country that is cost-effective and the price is high then you’ll have to think twice before purchasing it.
